CMRF Service Coordination — How Team Samarpan Foundation Supports the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in Soygaon
What is the Chief Minister's Relief Fund?
The Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) of Maharashtra, also called Mukhyamantri Sahayata Nidhi (मुख्यमंत्री सहाय्यता निधी), is a state government fund that provides financial assistance to Maharashtra residents in need — primarily for serious medical treatments, disaster relief, and other specific hardship categories defined by the state government. It is administered by the Chief Minister's Office, Government of Maharashtra.
Eligible categories typically include critical surgeries, cancer treatment, dialysis, organ transplants, accident victims, and specific state-notified calamities. The exact scheme guidelines and current eligibility are published on the official CMRF portal.
What Team Samarpan Foundation does — and does not do
What we do
- Awareness: Inform villagers in Soygaon Taluka about the existence of the CMRF and other state welfare schemes they may be eligible for
- Documentation support: Help families gather the paperwork most CMRF medical applications require — medical certificates from a government hospital, income certificate, residence certificate, Aadhaar, bank passbook, patient's photograph, treatment estimate from the hospital
- Application assistance: Walk the applicant through the official CMRF form, help check it is complete, and guide them to the correct submission channel
- Follow-up coaching: If the application needs clarification or additional documents, help the family understand what is being asked and how to respond
- Transport help (occasional): For elderly or seriously ill beneficiaries, volunteers sometimes accompany families to the Taluka office or district headquarters for in-person submission
What we do NOT do
- We do not charge any fee for this help. All volunteer time is pro bono.
- We do not handle money on behalf of CMRF applicants. Government funds, if approved, are disbursed directly by the government to the beneficiary or the treating hospital.
- We do not claim influence over CMRF decisions. Approval or rejection is entirely at the government's discretion based on medical and financial merit.
- We do not endorse specific hospitals or treatment providers.
- We do not issue any "Team Samarpan CMRF card" or similar — such claims, if encountered, are fraudulent.
Why this coordination matters in rural Soygaon
In urban areas, patients and families often have information, English-reading relatives, or paid middlemen to help with government paperwork. In rural Soygaon:
- Many families don't know the CMRF exists
- Hospital bills during a medical emergency are overwhelming, and families take loans at high interest before realising government aid may be available
- The application requires specific documents that take days of running between offices to assemble
- Rejection often happens because of small procedural errors — a wrong signature, a missing certificate — that are easily avoidable with proper guidance
Team Samarpan Foundation volunteers — many of them local college students trained by senior volunteers — fill this information and documentation gap. We don't replace the government; we help eligible residents reach it.
How to request CMRF coordination support
- Reach out through the contact form on teamsamarpan.org or via a known Team Samarpan volunteer in your village
- Share a brief summary: patient's name, nature of illness/need, treating hospital, current cost estimate, village
- A trained volunteer will arrange a visit (or video call) to review documents
- We will tell you honestly whether your case appears to fit CMRF eligibility criteria — if not, we may suggest other relevant schemes (PM-JAY, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, district-level medical aid, etc.)
- If eligible, we help prepare the complete application packet
- You submit through official CMRF channels; we follow up with you (not with the government on your behalf as an "influencer").
Honest expectations
Not every application succeeds. The CMRF receives far more requests than it can fund, and decisions depend on severity, income, available budget and the government's own criteria. What we can guarantee is that a complete, well-prepared, honest application has a meaningfully higher chance of being considered than a hastily assembled one — and that we won't take a rupee for the help.
